Kvikna is a Reykjavík-based company specializing in advanced technical software solutions. Established in 2008 by four seasoned software developers with decades of experience, the team has since then expanded to over 20 experts, including engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians, physicists, and specialists in quality management, project management, and UI/UX design, all collaborating to deliver high-quality solutions.

Strategically located in Reykjavík, Kvikna serves international clients across the USA, UK, Scandinavia, and rest of Europe delivering robust software products utilized in over 50 countries worldwide.

Kvikna consists of two companies, Kvikna Consulting ehf. and Kvikna Medical ehf.



Kvikna Consulting partners with companies to develop custom solutions across various industries. Kvikna Consulting has received support from the Technology Development Fund for the projects "Automatic anti-roll tank for boats" in collaboration with Trefjar in Hafnarfjörður, "Seizure Monitor for Epileptic Children", and as a co-applicant with ÍSOR (Iceland Geosurvey) and Belgingur ehf. for the project "Measurement of gasses and dust using UAV".

Kvikna Medical started out 2008 with a vision to improve EEG data access and usability. Prior to Stratus EEG, the company’s founders were ground-breaking in bringing modern IT technology into the field of EEG. They developed the NicoletOne EEG®, the first EEG system to use Windows® and digital video. With Stratus EEG, they introduced another new concept, the EEG Cloud Service which eliminates geographical boundaries and improves access to EEG services for those in need.
Today, Kvikna Medical's Stratus EEG products are used by professionals across the globe.
